The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has announced extensive measures to accommodate the increased travel demand during the upcoming Swarna Gowri and Ganesh Chaturthi festivals. From September 5 to 7, KSRTC will operate an additional 1,500 buses from Bengaluru to various destinations beyond the regular schedules.

15 Extra Buses to Major Destinations

In preparation for the celebrations, special buses will be deployed from Bengaluru’s Kempegowda Bus Station to several key locations including Dharmastala, Kukkesubramanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Shringeri, Horanadu, Davangere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Bidar, Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad, among others.

Additionally, buses will run from Mysuru Road Bus Station to destinations such as Mysuru, Hunsur, Piriyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalanagar, and Madikeri. Premier special buses will also be available from the BMTC Bus Station at Shanthinagar (TTMC) to Tamil Nadu and Kerala locations, including Madurai, Kumbakonam, Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruchi, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, and Kozhikode.

KSRTC’s Extra Bus Service: Booking and Discounts

KSRTC has facilitated advance computerized reservation for these special services. Tickets can be purchased at booking counters throughout Karnataka and in neighboring states such as Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Kerala, Puducherry, Maharashtra, and Goa.

For added convenience, KSRTC is providing a 5% discount on group bookings for four or more passengers using a single ticket. Furthermore, a 10% discount will be provided on return journey tickets if both onward and return tickets are booked simultaneously.

Additional Services Based on Demand

In response to traffic needs, KSRTC will also deploy special buses from various taluk and district bus stands within its jurisdiction. This initiative is part of the corporation’s effort to ensure that passengers can travel comfortably and efficiently during the festive period.
