The Vande Bharat Express, one of Indian Railways’ premier train services, offers a fast and comfortable travel experience. However, passengers planning to cancel their tickets for this service must be aware of the cancellation charges that apply. Passengers planning to travel on the Vande Bharat Express should note that ticket cancellations incur charges, which vary based on the timing of the cancellation and the class of travel.
Here’s a breakdown of how much will be deducted when canceling a Vande Bharat Express ticket:
If you cancel a Vande Bharat Express ticket more than 48 hours before the scheduled departure, a flat cancellation fee is applied. This ranges from Rs 60 for Second Class to Rs 240 for AC First Class/Executive Class tickets.
If you cancel between 48 and 12 hours prior to departure, 25% of the total fare is deducted in addition to the flat fee. For cancellations made between 12 and 4 hours before the train departs, 50% of the fare is charged alongside the minimum cancellation fee.
Passengers with RAC (Reservation Against Cancellation) or waitlisted tickets have more flexibility. These tickets can be cancelled up to 30 minutes before the train’s departure for a full refund, minus a nominal clerkage fee.
However, for e-ticket cancellations, a Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR) must be filed online to process the refund, as e-tickets cannot be cancelled directly.
