In a significant step towards improving passenger safety, two new police help centres were inaugurated at Thakurli and Kopar railway stations in Maharashtra’s Thane district, as per an official announcement made on Sunday. These centres aim to offer immediate assistance to commuters, ensuring a safer and more secure travel experience.
Maharashtra Public Works Minister Ravindra Chavan inaugurated the centres on Saturday. According to senior inspector Kiran Undare of Kalyan GRP, the help centres are strategically positioned on the western side of both stations, enabling police officers to provide immediate assistance to passengers.
These centres will operate 24/7, ensuring round-the-clock support for any incidents or emergencies that may arise. By providing immediate assistance, the help centres are designed to address concerns related to safety, security and crime prevention at the stations. The initiative was made possible through the collaborative efforts of six police commissioners, showcasing a unified approach to bolster the security framework for commuters in the region.
