The Northern Railway has reported delays affecting 23 trains scheduled to arrive in the Delhi area today (February 2) due to foggy conditions. These delays have been attributed to various factors, disrupting travel plans for passengers relying on these services.
Among the affected trains, the Delhi Sarai Rohilla to Jodhpur Express is running late by approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes. Similarly, the Puri to New Delhi Express is experiencing a delay of 3 hours, significantly impacting passengers’ schedules.
Additionally, the Kanpur Central to New Delhi Express is running behind schedule by 1 hour and 20 minutes, while the Katihar to Amritsar Express faces a delay of 2 hours and 30 minutes. The Saharsa to New Delhi Express is also affected, running late by 2 hours and 50 minutes.
Flight services were also impacted by low visibility caused by the fog. Several flights were delayed as flight operations were impacted at Delhi International Airport on Friday.
Weather conditions in North India
In the morning hours, Delhi recorded a current temperature of 9 degrees Celsius today. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted rainfall in the Western Himalayan Region and certain areas of Uttar Pradesh over the next few days, expected to occur at one or two locations.
“The Western Himalayan Region (Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) also gets rainfall and snowfall activity, as shown in recent satellite imagery,” said IMD.
Meanwhile, picturesque scenes unfolded in various parts of Himachal Pradesh, with the Tikkar area of the Nawar valley in Shimla district draped in a pristine blanket of snow. Similarly, the Kharapathar area in Shimla experienced fresh snowfall, creating a scenic winter landscape. In Jammu and Kashmir, the higher reaches of the Pir Panjal Mountain Range received a fresh dusting of snow, delighting tourists and locals alike who were seen relishing the wintry weather.
