The Central Railway has announced the operation of 18 special trains to accommodate the increased passenger demand during the upcoming long weekend, which includes Independence Day and Raksha Bandhan.
The special trains will connect major destinations between August 15 and 20, 2024.

- LTT Mumbai-Nagpur: 2 trains
- LTT Mumbai-Madgaon: 4 trains
- CSMT Mumbai-Kolhapur: 2 trains
- Pune-Nagpur: 4 trains
- Kalaburagi-Bengaluru: 6 trains
Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway, said, “We decided to run these special trains due to the increased demand during the long weekend. Our aim is to provide convenient travel options for passengers celebrating Independence Day and Rakhi.”
Reservations for these special trains are now available at all computerized reservation centers and on the IRCTC website.
