Instamart, the quick commerce arm of food delivery platform Swiggy, on Tuesday said it has partnered with Reliance Jio to offer 10-minute delivery of Jio mobile phones across 95 cities. In a statement, the company said that it would deliver JioBharat V4 and JioPhone Prima 2 models.

The platform had last year launched the quick delivery of smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Nothing, OnePlus, Redmi, Motorola, Oppo, Vivo, and Realme. Jio’s phones, however, are more budget-friendly.

The JioBharat V4 is priced at Rs 799 and is a 4G feature phone equipped with UPI payments via JioPay, over 455 live TV channels. It has a 1000 mAh battery and offers HD voice calling. It is primarily targeted at first-time users seeking basic digital connectivity.

The JioPhone Prima 2, retailing at Rs 2,799, offers enhanced features such as YouTube, Facebook, Google Voice Assistant, and JioTV. It runs on a Snapdragon processor with 512MB RAM and a 2000 mAh battery,

Swiggy and Jio already partner with each other in mobile recharge packs. The Rs 1,028 recharge offered to Jio users, with a validity of 84 days, provides them with a subscription to Swiggy One Lite.

It offers benefits worth Rs 600 such as: 10 free home delivery on food orders above Rs 149, 10 free home delivery on Instamart orders above Rs 199, No surge fees on food and Instamart orders and upto 30% extra discounts on 20,000 restaurants above regular offers.

Quick commerce platforms have been partnering with electronics companies to offer their products to customers within minutes. This includes ACs, heaters, geysers and fans.

However, mobile phones are among the most sought after product in this category. Analysts suggest that with internet penetration increasing and average incomes rising in the country, the demand for mobile phones is likely to go up.
This offers quick commerce platforms a chance to improve their average order values and margins.
Instamart, launched in 2020, now operates in over 125 cities.
