United Breweries Holdings (UBHL), a holding company of UB Group, on Friday reported a net loss of Rs 16.3 crore for the third quarter ended December on account of higher expenditure, including provisions and write-offs, during the quarter. It had registered a net profit of Rs 2 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The total expenses during the quarter rose sharply by 47.2% to Rs 106 crore, of which write offs amounted to Rs 48 crore as against Rs 25 crore in the year ago period.
