Sunil Mittal, founder-chairman of Bharti Enterprises, has been accorded this year’s Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award, an honour bestowed on past students from the renowned business school who “have contributed significantly to their companies and communities while upholding the highest standards and values in everything they do”. The award was instituted in 1968.
“I am truly honoured to receive this recognition. Harvard Business School’s renowned management programme helped me validate and sharpen my work towards putting together the building blocks to create one of the leading global telecom companies — Bharti Airtel,” Mittal said in a statement.
Mittal also founded Bharti Airtel, the country’s largest telecommunications company.
