Snapdeal offers: ‘Wish for India’ sale has been unveiled during the ongoing Amazon ‘Great India Sale’ that has not managed to grab the attention of the buyers to the extent expected. Snapdeal, in its ‘Wish for India Sale’ is offering huge discounts on many products including laptops, LED televisions, split air conditoners and smartphones. In a competitive market like India, ecommerce firms are always found looking for an ooportunity to offer goods on discounts via online sale and cash-in on the opportunity they see has been opened up by rivals’ sales. And now, since Independence Day is fast approaching and patriotic fervour is at its peak, Snapdeal is looking to celebrate with its new sale.
Snapdeal offers some of the biggest deals going around including Samsung Galaxy J3 smartphone priced at Rs 8,290 (discount of Rs 700), Dell Inspiron 3558 Notebook priced at Rs 25,699 (discount of Rs 5598), Micromax 40GB8590FHD LED TV priced at Rs 20,490 (discount of Rs 19,500) and Voltas 1.2 T split ac priced at Rs 29,990 (discount of Rs 68,990). The offers are under ‘wish for an upgrade’ and ‘wish for the latest’ category. Snapdeal is also giving discounts on household products in ‘wish for newness’ offer. As the Amazon ‘Great India Sale’ has witnessed tepid response, it will be interesting to see how Snapdeal fares on consumer sentiments and will it be able to generate a huge ‘freedom-sale’ sentiment.
After splurging huge amounts of money last year on some never-before-seen kind of sales, all ecommerce companies in India have cut back on giving discounts and that has had a negative impact on the buyers interest too. Right now, the focus of these e-retailers is on retaining old customers and ensuring a great buying experience as well as a glitch-free deal process.
