Public sector company BEML Ltd has received a work order valued at Rs 414 crore for the Bangalore Metro Rail Project. In an exchange filing, the company said the  Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited placed the order for the supply of additional trainsets for the Bangalore Metro project. 

BEML has a significant presence in Indian railway cars and metro car manufacturing. The company has supplied 1250 metro cars for the Delhi Metro, 325 cars for the Bangalore Metro and about 84 cars for the Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation. 

The company said its order book position stood at Rs 16,342 crore, of which it executed orders worth Rs 794 crore during Q2FY26. It expects to execute orders worth Rs 4,217 crore in the current financial year and Rs 12,125 crore in subsequent years

BEML Q2 results 

BEML reported a 5.8 per cent YoY profit decline in the second quarter of fiscal year 2025-26. The state-owned company reported a consolidated net profit of  Rs 48.03 crore in the Q2 FY26. The company had posted a consolidated profit of Rs 51.03 crore in Q2 FY25.

Further, BEML reported a 2.42 per cent revenue decline in the quarter. The company reported a consolidated revenue of Rs 839 crore in Q2 FY26, compared to Rs 859 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

BEML’s stock opened at Rs 1,795.60 on Wednesday. In the last month, the company’s stock has declined by 19.42 per cent. Similarly, in the past 6 months and one-year period, BEML’s stock has lost 18.7 per cent and 17.19 per cent of its market value.
