MS Dhoni’s calling time on his Test career could see his brand value undergo a change but it is unlikely to plummet, ad gurus Prasoon Joshi and Prahlad Kakkar said on Tuesday, reports PTI. “His image will go through a change of course but would it be downhill for him? I don’t think so,”
Joshi said. According to 2014 figures, Dhoni endorses more than 20 brands, charging  approximately R13 crore a year for each product. The 33-year-old is also the sole Indian in Forbes’ lists of the world’s most valuable athlete brands, at No. 5 with a brand value of $20 million. Kakkar, however,  believes Dhoni’s saleability would have dropped had he also quit ODIs and T20s.

Dhoni’s Test record

*Made Test debut against Sri Lanka in 2005, scoring 30 in rain-hit match in Chennai
*India’s string of away Test defeats remains a blot on his captaincy records, though, and the emergence of Virat Kohli was seen as an alternative
*Surpassed retired great Sachin Tendulkar as the highest-earning Indian sportsman but remains a fiercely private person
(Against Australia in February 2013)
