India’s total billionaire count has crossed 350 for the first time. According to the latest Hurun India report, the country added 58 new billionaires in 2025, bringing the total count to 358. Over the past two years, India has created a billionaire every two weeks, the report listed out.
According to the report, the total net worth of 358 billionaires in India reached Rs 167 lakh crore in 2025. The wealth of Indian billionaires, which grew 5 per cent YoY, is greater than Spain’s GDP and equivalent to nearly half of India’s GDP.
Reliance Industries’ Chairman Mukesh Ambani remains at the top of the Hurun India Rich List with a net worth of Rs 9,55,410 crore. He is followed by Gautam Adani, who holds a net worth of Rs 8,14,720 crore.

Mukesh Ambani and family are the richest in the world with a wealth of Rs 9.55 lakh crore. Ambani is the Chairman and MD of Reliance Industries, India’s most diversified conglomerate with interests in energy, telecom, retail, and technology.
Gautam Adani holds the second spot with Rs 8.15 lakh crore. Adani, who heads the Adani Group, runs a diversified conglomerate with interests in ports, energy, logistics, and infrastructure.
Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson of HCL Technologies, with a wealth of Rs 2.84 lakh crore, has become the first woman to enter the top three of the Hurun list.
Cyrus S. Poonawalla, Chairman of the Serum Institute of India, with a wealth of Rs 2.46 lakh crore, is at the fourth spot. The Serum Institute of India is the world’s largest vaccine manufacturer by doses, renowned for making life-saving immunizations accessible at scale.
Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman of the Aditya Birla Group, with a wealth of Rs 2.33 lakh crore, has entered the top five this year.
Niraj Bajaj, Chairman of the Bajaj Group, with a wealth of Rs 2.30 lakh crore, and Dilip Shanghvi, Founder of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, with a wealth of Rs 2.31 lakh crore, hold the sixth and seventh ranks, respectively.
Azim Premji and family with a wealth of Rs 2.21 lakh crore, Gopichand Hinduja and family with Rs 1.85 lakh crore, and Radhakishan Damani and family with Rs 1.83 lakh crore are also among the top 10.
Startup founder on rise
The report features 97 startup founders with a net worth of over $1 billion. The list includes 46 new entrants from the startup space and 12 founders from publicly listed startups. Vijay Shekhar Sharma, founder of Paytm, regained his billionaire status this year with a wealth of Rs 15,930 crore. Zepto’s co-founders, Kaivalya Vohra, 22 years old, and Aadit Palicha, 23 years old, are the youngest billionaires of India.
