Discovery appoints Karan Bajaj as SVP and GM — South Asia
Karan Bajaj will join Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific as senior vice president and GM of South Asia with effect from October 17, 2016. He will be based in Mumbai and report to Arthur Bastings, president and MD. Besides focussing on re-formulating Discovery’s product suite, Bajaj will also be responsible for executing on the company’s stated ambition to build broader flagship brands and actively seek out inorganic growth opportunities. He was most recently with baby specialist Aden and Anais in New York where he was chief marketing officer, specialising in digital approaches.

BBNPL re-launches business channel as BTVi
Business Broadcast News has re-launched its business channel as BTVi. The channel is dedicated to business and financial information that is of material interest and use to all participants of the financial ecosystem. Contract bags advertising mandate of Aviva Life Insurance
Following a competitive pitch, Contract Advertising has won the creative duties for Aviva Life Insurance India. The agency will help build and develop the company’s communication messages, through new propositions and initiatives, over the next two years. Earlier, Aviva Life Insurance was being partnered by BBDO and MRM // McCann. Ashish Chakravarty, NCD, Contract Advertising, said, “A regulatory controlled category is plagued with sameness of product offering, and consumer conversations. Thus the role of brand communication becomes critical. We found Aviva’s new approach a welcome change.”
