Defence manufacturing company, Premier Explosives, received a Rs 7.83 crore order from the Ministry of Defence. In an exchange filing, the company said on Wednesday that the order pertains to the supply of Counter Measures. 

The company stated in the filing that the estimated time for the order completion is 12 months. Premier Explsove, which deals in defence as well as commercial explosive solutions, primarily supplies propellants to the missiles by the Ministry of Defence. 

Premier Explosives business 

Incorporated in 1980, Premier Explosives manufactures commercial explosives catering to the mining, infrastructure, and construction sectors. The company manufactures explosive products such as detonators, explosives and boosters. 

 Premier has also been manufacturing solid propellants since  2003 for defence purposes. The company has a dedicated solid propellants manufacturing facility at Peddakandukuru in the Nalgonda district of Telangana. The company caters to the needs of tactical missiles like Astra, Akash, LRSAM and rockets like Pinaka.

The company also manufactures speciality products like Explosive Bolts, Pyro Actuators, Smoke Markers and Cable Cutters for the defence sector.

Premier Explosive reported a revenue of Rs 417 crore in FY25. In the previous fiscal year, the company’s revenue was Rs 271 crore. The company’s net profit in FY25 and FY24 stood at Rs 285 crore and Rs 281 crore, respectively.

In the past 6 months, Premier Explosives’ share has gained 57 per cent. The company’s stock rose from Rs 338 on March 10 to Rs 532 on September 10. 

On Wednesday, Premier Explosives’ stock closed at 0.74 per cent down for the day.
