Eternal Founder and CEO Deepinder Goyal’s aviation venture LAT Aerospace has reportedly purchased a Bombardier Global series private jet, a Moneycontrol report stated citing people familiar with the matter. The Bombardier Global series aircraft, the report added, has been parked in the Delhi airport’s VIP bay since June 2025, and is scheduled for its maiden operation today, July 16.
The ground handling and engineering responsibilities for the jet are shared by Indamer MJets Airport Services and Bird Execujet Airport Services, the report stated. These are the leading names in aviation support in India. However, Moneycontrol could not ascertain specific details regarding the exact make and model, aircraft registration, and the intended purpose of today’s flight.
The acquisition comes on the heels of Deepinder Goyal’s high-profile purchase of a super-luxury apartment in DLF’s The Camellias in Gurugram for Rs 52.3 crore. According to Forbes, Deepinder Goyal has 36.95 crore shares in Zomato or 3.83 per cent stake, as of June 2025. At the current market price, this stake is valued at Rs 9,847 crore, which takes Goyal’s net worth to $1.6 billion.
Clarification from Deepinder Goyal
However, clarifying on the news report, Deepinder Goyal said that LAT is not in the business of buying planes and has not bought any private jet. In a post on X (formerly, Twitter), he said, “For those who want facts more than clickbaity headlines – LAT is a startup, and has not bought any private jet. LAT is about making planes for regional aviation, and is not in the business of buying planes. And, I don’t own one personally either. Will be nice to have one though.”
How did it start?
Earlier in June, Surobhi Das, Co-founder, LAT Aerospace, through a LinkedIn post, had revealed that Deepinder Goyal is backing the aviation startup. LAT Aerospace promises to make air travel more accessible and affordable for underserved regions across the country.
In a post on LinkedIn, Surobhi Das, Co-founder, LAT Aerospace, revealed that the duo have been working on the aviation startup. “Ever wished your next bus ride could just… take off? We did too. While building Zomato and flying across India, Deepinder and I kept circling back to the same question: Why is regional air travel still so broken – expensive, infrequent, and mostly out of reach unless you live in a metro?”
According to a CNBC TV18 report, the company has raised $50 million, of which $20 million is from Goyal.
