Republic Day 2024 Parade Highlights: “Aavaahan” took center stage at Kartavya Path on Friday as India marked its 75th Republic Day. Dignitaries including French President Macron, the chief guest, President Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed the event, which featured tableaux representing states, Union Territories, and various ministries. The parade’s twin themes, ‘Visit Bharat’ (developed India) and ‘Bharat — Loktantra Ki Matruka’ (India — the mother of democracy), were showcased. Prominent entries included tableaux of Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir and ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft, along with a march past celebrating ‘nari shakti.’ Additionally, four Mi-17 IV helicopters from the 105 Helicopter Unit showered flower petals on the audience at Kartavya Path. The Republic Day Parade started at 10:30 AM from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path.
On the occassion, the national capital was under an extensive security deployment on the occasion, with more than 70,000 personnel deployed across the city. Among them, 14,000 personnel were stationed at and around Kartavya Path to ensure the security of the Republic Day parade.

Delhi Police in coordination with MapMyIndia, a digital mapping platform, has introduced navigation links to simplify the transportation process for Republic Day invitees utilising the parking facility. Following the drop-off of VIPs near their designated seating areas, vehicles will be directed to specific parking locations. Invitees can utilise the navigation links to reach their drop-off points, allowing their vehicles to navigate to the assigned parking area using the map. Subsequently, after the parade concludes, the vehicles will retrieve invitees from their designated spots and proceed accordingly.

Over 200 women personnel from the CRPF, the world’s largest paramilitary force, marched on Kartavya Path during the 75th Republic Day parade. The CRPF, known for raising one of the earliest women band contingents, saw Constable Sosa Alpaben leading a band of 100 women playing ‘Desh Ke Hum Hai Rakshak.’ Following the band was the women contingent led by Assistant Commandant Megha Nair from the 234th Battalion in Visakhapatnam. The CRPF holds the distinction of establishing the first women armed police battalion in the country.

A collective of 1500 dancers conveys the message of unity in diversity through their grand performance, incorporating 30 distinct folk dance styles representing various states across the nation. The Republic Day parade on Friday highlighted ISRO’s accomplishments, featuring the landing of the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft near the Moon’s south pole and the Aditya L-1 mission dedicated to Sun study. Emphasizing inclusivity, the tableau showcased the pivotal role played by women scientists across various ISRO missions. Notably, ISRO is gearing up for India‘s inaugural human space flight next year. The tableau included a model of Launch Vehicle Mark-3, responsible for carrying Chandrayaan-3 to the Moon from Sriharikota, and showcased the lunar landing site named Shiv Shakti Point by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
