The Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to provide financial assistance to serving and retired police personnel from 1 April, next month. As a welfare measure MHA will give 50% Goods and Services Tax (GST) support on goods bought from Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar.
The families and Personnel of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Central Police Organisations and State Police Forces and their families will be benefited from this scheme.
MHA has taken the decision as a mark of respect to the force for their hard work and dedication in maintaining safety within the country.
With this support, the Ministry has kept the Personnel of Central Armed Police Forces and their families at utmost importance. It said, Due to them deployed in far flung areas and inhospitable terrain to ensure the internal security of not only risk their lives but also personal inconvenience.
Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar established as a welfare measure by MHA in 2006 provides consumer goods to 35 lakhs beneficiaries at a lower rate than market. In has all India presence with 119 Master Canteens and more than 1700 Subsidiary Canteens and also provide two wheeler and four wheeler at cheaper rates
