John Kirby, the White House National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communication, recently stated that the US will emphasize its commitment to the G20 as a vital platform for global problem-solving during President Joe Biden's upcoming visit to India, where he will participate in the G20 Summit.
“Our primary objective as we approach the G20 is to collaborate on the reconfiguration and expansion of multilateral development institutions like the IMF and the World Bank,” Kirby informed international journalists during a press briefing. “We recognize that these institutions serve as highly effective tools for facilitating transparent and high-quality investments in developing nations. Delhi government minister Atishi extended her congratulations to the Central government for the construction of the ITPO complex, which will host the G20 Summit on Saturday and Sunday.
Her statement comes amid an ongoing 'credit war' concerning Delhi's pre-summit development and beautification efforts.
Atishi and Urban Development Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj affirmed that Delhi is fully prepared to welcome the summit's guests, with all preparations being successfully completed.

As global leaders, including US President Joe Biden, gear up to assemble in New Delhi for the upcoming Group of 20 Summit, they will be greeted by scorching heatwaves. Climate change is set to be a central topic on the summit's agenda, and the extreme weather conditions in India's capital are expected to underscore the urgency of the issue.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been a vocal advocate for addressing global concerns, particularly climate change. The recent record-breaking heatwave in Delhi may serve as a stark reminder of the challenges posed by extreme weather to leaders from across the globe. On Monday, Delhi experienced a sweltering high of 40.1°, marking the hottest September day in 85 years, according to the country's meteorological agency.
This year has witnessed a surge in extreme weather events worldwide, ranging from devastating flash floods to rampant wildfires that have claimed lives, strained power infrastructure, and caused extensive damage to buildings and homes. In June, both land and ocean temperatures reached unprecedented levels, with ocean temperatures hitting new highs for a third consecutive month. These developments further underscore the urgent need for climate action.
