Hilton announced the acquisition of a majority controlling interest in Sydell Group to expand the NoMad Hotels brand globally. Led by founder Andrew Zobler, Sydell has created several lifestyle brands, including NoMad, known for exceptional food and beverage, interior design, and service.
Sydell will oversee design, branding, and management of the NoMad brand, while Hilton will handle development. NoMad properties will remain independently owned, with plans to develop up to 100 globally. Each hotel aims to offer a unique luxury experience, blending grandeur with intimacy and local touches.
“We are thrilled to be announcing Hilton’s highly-anticipated entry into the luxury lifestyle space with the NoMad Hotels brand. This offers yet another exciting dimension to our growth story in India, as we look to build on our growing momentum with our existing luxury and lifestyle brands such as Waldorf Astoria, Conrad and Curio Collection by Hilton. With the thriving Indian economy and increasing expectations of discerning travelers, this new brand will provide even more opportunities for exceptional experiences in desirable destinations across India and Asia Pacific,” Alan Watts, president, Asia Pacific, Hilton, said.
The flagship NoMad London will open to Hilton guests later this year, with expansion plans in top markets worldwide. NoMad Las Vegas is excluded from the transaction. NoMad joins Hilton’s portfolio of luxury brands, complementing its existing offerings across Waldorf Astoria, Conrad, LXR, and Signia by Hilton.
NoMad will participate in Hilton Honors, providing benefits to members. The acquisition reflects Hilton’s strategy to expand its presence in the luxury lifestyle segment. Financial terms were not disclosed.
