Greencraft Bioscience, a Surat-based company, says it is working to build public and institutional trust in Vijaya, the Ayurvedic term for medicinal cannabis, through a compliance-based and educational approach rooted in traditional Indian medicine.

According to the company, its flagship Ayurvedic dispensary, Cannacraft, is Gujarat’s first licensed facility focused exclusively on cannabis leaf-based medicines. Greencraft says all formulations adhere to the NDPS Act (leaf exemption), the Bombay Prohibition Act and Schedule E(1) of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act. The company states that its products use only leaves and exclude flowers and resin to remain within Indian legal parameters.  As per the company, their dispensary operates within the Gujarat state’s prohibition laws

Cannacraft, the company says, offers Ayurvedic care for conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), chemotherapy-induced nausea, insomnia, arthritis and anxiety. These treatments are overseen by BAMS-certified doctors and involve personalized consultations and follow-ups, the company adds. It also says medicines are provided in fixed-dose capsules and Klik dispensers to encourage standardized usage.

Greencraft has also launched Beyond Hemp Functional Café, which it describes as an FSSAI-registered space offering hemp seed-based food and beverages. The café aims to educate the public on the nutritional and industrial uses of hemp seeds, which are non-psychoactive and legally distinct from other parts of the cannabis plant, according to the company.

The company says it bases its work on Ayurvedic texts such as the Sushruta Samhita, Charaka Samhita and Bhavaprakasha Nighantu, and is combining classical references with current therapeutic applications. It is also developing digital tools to help patients track prescriptions, monitor symptoms and follow dosage protocols.

Greencraft says its future plans include launching a nationwide franchise model and exporting Ayurvedic cannabis leaf-based formulations and hemp-derived wellness products. It describes its dual-brand strategy—Cannacraft for medicinal cannabis and Beyond Hemp for public education—as part of its effort to integrate cannabis into India’s wellness sector.
