Gamepoint, a sports services provider, has partnered with Decathlon, a sports retail company, to promote a sporting culture and healthier lifestyle in Hyderabad. The collaboration aims to make sports accessible to all, encouraging individuals to embrace a healthier lifestyle through physical activity.
The partnership will utilise Gamepoint’s sports centers to organise sports events for all age groups and skill levels in Hyderabad. These events aim to facilitate active participation in sports, the discovery of talents, and the development of a close-knit sports community among individuals and families.
“Our association with Decathlon signifies a pivotal moment in Gamepoint’s journey to bring the joy of sports to the people of Hyderabad. This partnership transcends the realm of business; it is a platform through which we will make a lasting impact on the community. Together, we will aim to strategically promote sports, encourage active lifestyles, and build a healthier and more vibrant city of Hyderabad,” Aditya Reddy, co-founder and CEO, Gamepoint, said.
In alignment with Decathlon’s commitment to making sports benefits accessible to a wider audience, the collaboration will extend to local facilities at Atrium Store and Uppal Store in Hyderabad.
This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and engagement for sports enthusiasts in the city, propelling participative sports to new heights.
A joint study by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) conducted last year revealed statistics regarding physical activity levels. Nationally, 41% of Indians are not sufficiently active, a number that rises to over 52% among urban adults.
Both Decathlon and Gamepoint are actively addressing this issue by promoting sports, fostering a sports ecosystem, and encouraging fitness and wellness in the state of Telangana.
