Excitel, a home internet startup, is taking its successful ‘Drive Safely’ Out-of-Home (OOH) campaign to Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Jaipur. This campaign aims to encourage safe and attentive driving, with messaging like ‘Calls are more exciting at home, Chats are more exciting at home,’ and ‘Games are more exciting at home.’
The ‘Drive Safely’ campaign was originally launched on the streets of Delhi with billboards placed across 300 strategic locations. With its expansion into Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Jaipur, this initiative advocates for a collective commitment to road safety among commuters. The campaign aims to foster a culture of responsible and attentive driving, encouraging individuals to prioritise safety on the roads.
“Our marketing strategy aims for more than just publicity; it aims for a profound impact. Moving ahead, our goal is to create safer roads, cultivate responsible driving habits, and ensure that Excitel continues to lead in promoting road safety, not only as a corporate mission but as a genuine commitment to our communities’ well-being,” Varun Pasricha, chief operating officer, Excitel said.
According to a report from the World Health Organisation (WHO) titled ‘Mobile Phone Use: A Growing Driver Distraction Issue’, individuals who use mobile phones while driving are at a significantly higher risk of accidents. The study reveals that these distracted drivers are four times more likely to be involved in crashes. This concerning discovery emphasises the immediate need for heightened awareness and stricter measures to improve road safety. Specifically, in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Jaipur, where the statistics are particularly alarming, the ‘Drive Safely’ campaign messages will now be prominently displayed in key areas across the cities through transit advertising, as part of our efforts to combat distracted driving.
