Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs some breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Anshuman Singhania, managing director, JK Tyre and Industries, talks to BrandWagon Online about his weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
When I am not immersed in work, I enjoy engaging in a variety of activities that allow me to relax and recharge. I love spending time outside and being engaged in sports activities, whether it’s hiking through beautiful trails, working out at the gym. Watching my kids participate in sporting activities fills me with immense joy, and I never pass up a chance to watch a movie with family and friends. For me, striking a balance between spending time with my loved ones and focusing on my wellbeing is imperative.
How do you spend your weekends?
On weekends, I often find myself visiting relatives, which is not only a great way to catch up with loved ones but also strengthens family bonds. Delhi is a vibrant city with so much to offer, and I greatly enjoy exploring new restaurants and happening places with friends and family. These weekends provide a perfect blend of quality time with close ones.
What are your favourite gadgets?
My Apple watch is one of my most favourite gadgets. It is a wonderful companion because of its adaptability, which helps me both at work and during workouts. I prefer technology that makes life easier and more practical. Home automation technology is another. The ability to easily manage and improve several areas of my house gives daily life a futuristic feel. These devices not only make life more convenient but also highlight how technology is constantly evolving in today’s society.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
In an alternate career path, I’d naturally gravitate towards the travel sector, an inclination deeply rooted in my profound love for exploration and travel. I’ve always had a strong desire to travel, and I’m always curious to learn about other cultures, visit offbeat places, and experience new cuisines. Hence, a career in travel would ideally complement my interests and allow me to contribute my enthusiasm and insights to help create new opportunities.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
Cruises are one of my ideal vacation choices. In my view, it’s the best way to see the world. It’s a singular adventure that takes you through many towns and cities, each of which has its own alluring appeal. A cruise trip offers an unmatched fusion of relaxation, adventure, and cultural immersion, whether it’s sailing across calm waters or arriving at bustling ports of call. It’s an amazing way to enjoy the luxuries of a floating paradise while embracing the diversity of our globe.
A TV show, movie, and an ad campaign that you highly recommend watching.
The “Godfather” series of movies is a must-watch for an engaging cinematic experience. It spins an intriguing story while also teaching important lessons about shrewd business judgement.
The ad campaign that holds a special place in my heart is the “Mile Sur Mera Tumhara” commercial by the Government of India. With famous singers and achievers from different walks of life, it takes me back to my younger days while reminding me of the incredible diversity and breadth of Indian culture. Beyond being an advertisement, it’s a cultural masterpiece that resonates deeply with me.
