Weekends are all about downtime. After a week full of work to meet deadlines, everybody needs a breather to relax and recuperate. From watching a favourite web series to planning a vacation, weekends are designated as family and me time. Trisha singh, Operational Manager, Grand Uniara Hotel, Jaipur, talks to BrandWagon Online about her weekends, favourite vacation destination and more.
What is the one thing you like to do when not working?
I love to travel, it’s the one thing that truly rejuvenates me. For me, travel isn’t just about switching off, it’s also about observing what’s brewing in different markets, understanding cultural shifts, and spotting if something new is coming up. Every city or town has its own rhythm and a way of life that teaches you something fresh, and I enjoy soaking that in. It helps me come back with a clearer mind and sometimes even a fresh perspective for work.
How do you spend your weekends?
Weekends are usually my time to recharge. I like to hang out with my friends, unwind over conversations, or sometimes just head out of the city for a quick getaway. Even a short drive to a nearby place feels like a reset button, it breaks the monotony and is always very helpful in bringing back energy for the week ahead. I think a mix of social time and a little escape is the best way to spend weekends.
What are your favourite gadgets?
I’m honestly not into gadgets at all. In fact, I’ve been consciously trying to avoid screens as much as possible. Phones, laptops, tablets, everything feels too addictive, and I prefer not to spend unnecessary time on them. I don’t even like using my phone too much unless it’s essential. For me, staying away from screens is a way to protect my time and mind, so I can focus on things that really matter.
Given an option to choose another career, what would it be?
If I weren’t doing what I do today, I would definitely love to be a designer or an event curator. Both professions allow for a lot of creativity and detail, and I love the idea of creating experiences that people remember. Whether it’s through design or curating events, it’s about storytelling in a different medium, and that really excites me.
Which is your favourite vacation spot?
Europe has to be my all-time favourite. Recently, I’ve been exploring a lot of small towns there with my husband, and each one has its own charm and story to tell. From cobblestoned streets to hidden cafés, there’s always something new to discover. I genuinely believe you should always explore new places and new destinations, it’s often the unexpected trips that give you the best memories.
A TV show, a movie, and an ad campaign you highly recommend watching
Ted Lasso on Apple TV is my absolute favourite, it’s uplifting, witty, and full of life lessons without being preachy. And of course, Friends is a timeless classic that I can watch over and over again without ever getting bored. Both shows are about relationships and resilience in different ways, and that’s probably why they resonate so much.
