In a move aimed at enhancing connectivity to sacred destinations, SpiceJet has commenced the operations of non-stop flights from Hyderabad to Ayodhya.
Earlier, the low-cost carrier resumed services to Pakyong in Sikkim from Delhi and Kolkata, from March 31, 2024. The Delhi-Pakyong route will be operational five days a week, while the Kolkata-Pakyong flight will run daily. As for the Hyderabad-Ayodhya route, flights will operate thrice a week.
“We are happy to enhance connectivity to Ayodhya and Pakyong ahead of the forthcoming peak travel season. With an expanding fleet, we are poised to launch new routes and reinstate services on key ones. SpiceJet remains steadfast in providing seamless travel experiences to our passengers by enhancing domestic operations and fostering regional connectivity across India,” Chief Business Officer of SpiceJet, Debojo Maharshi in an official statement.
The introduction of these newly inaugurated flights highlights SpiceJet’s dedication to strengthening its network and providing enhanced connectivity options for travelers, especially during peak travel periods. Further, the improved accessibility on these routes will benefit residents, tourists, and pilgrims alike.
Notable to serve these routes, the airline will utilise a combination of Boeing 737 and Q400 aircraft, ensuring passengers experience efficient and comfortable travel throughout their journey.
SpiceJet bolsters fleet power
The Gurugram-headquartered Airlines is adding a new Q400 plane from Nordic Aviation Capital (NAC) to its fleet. The deal means SpiceJet now owns six Q400 planes, including five they already had from NAC.
With this move, the carrier saves a huge amount of money because they don’t have to pay monthly rent for these planes anymore. Recently, SpiceJet made deals with aircraft lessors that saved them a lot of money. One of these deals was with Export Development Canada (EDC), where SpiceJet got full ownership of 13 Q400 planes they had financed with EDC. This saved SpiceJet around $91 million, which is about Rs 567 crore.
