Noida International Airport in Uttar Pradesh’s Jewar is set to begin full-crew test flights by November 30, with commercial operations expected to start in March 2025, Arun Veer Singh, CEO of Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL), confirmed this to The Indian Express. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) will conduct initial flight trials on November 25, followed by commercial flight tests involving three to four flights, including international and domestic carriers like Indigo and Akasa.

NIAL plans to apply for Instrument Landing System (ILS) procedures and aerodrome licensing in December, with the aim of securing the DGCA licence by March. The booking code, part of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) system, will be published by February 6, after which ticket bookings will commence.

Preparations for flight scheduling are being expedited, with key officials from the Civil Aviation Ministry, DGCA and Airport Authority of India (AAI) overseeing the project. NIAL has installed CAT I and CAT III ILS systems on its two runways, and final calibrations by DGCA officials are expected by mid-October.

Several international airlines have applied to operate flights, with details to be disclosed once approvals are granted. Domestic flight routes and slots will be allocated following an upcoming meeting in October.
