IndiGo will unveil its premium services such business class as well as loyalty programme offering at an event on August 5 to celebrate its 18th anniversary.
“An all inclusive array of interlinked services that focuses on passengers comfort in an efficient and affordable manner will be shown,” sources told Fe.
According to sources, the seats and on-board amenities of the business class product to be introduced on select routes around November will be showcased.
“The complete passenger unit with broader seat base, enhanced leg room and improved menu options will be shown,” sources said.
The airline is also expected to announce plans relating to the XLR aircraft, along with new possible routes in southern Europe and the Mediterranean.
The airline’s international plans is dependent on widebody A350 planes,which rely heavily on the XLRs.
At present, IndiGo has been expanding its network in both domestic and international markets to meet the growing demand for air travel. Currently, the airline operates over 2,000 daily flights, serving 88 domestic and 33 international destinations.
The introduction of the XLR aircraft in 2025 is expected to significantly enhance its international capabilities in the medium-to-long-haul segment. With its range of 8,700 km, the aircraft is expected to bring Seoul, Amsterdam, and Athens within range of some Indian cities.
The XLRs will extend range, enabling the airline to reach destinations in southern Europe from Delhi that were previously inaccessible. Additionally, it will increase the number of routes served overseas, opening up opportunities to serve multiple points from India.
IndiGo has about 69 XLRs on order.
