IndiGo is expanding its international network with an exciting new route connecting Bengaluru to Malaysia’s scenic Langkawi. Starting December 16, 2024, travellers can now enjoy daily direct flights to this tropical paradise, making Langkawi IndiGo’s 36th international and 124th overall destination.

Expanding IndiGo’s Global Reach

This latest addition to the IndiGo network is part of the airline’s ongoing commitment to expanding its reach for Indian travellers, marking the second Malaysian destination IndiGo serves, alongside Kuala Lumpur. According to Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, “The addition of Langkawi reflects our dedication to offering affordable, timely, and seamless travel experiences across our network.” With 14 weekly flights now connecting India and Malaysia, IndiGo is poised to cater to the growing demand among Indian tourists, further supported by Malaysia’s recent visa waiver for Indian citizens.

IndiGo’s direct flight to Langkawi is part of the airline’s broader expansion of international routes from Bengaluru, which has also recently seen the introduction of flights to Mauritius and Bali. These destinations reflect Bengaluru’s emergence as a bustling international hub, with IndiGo providing connections to over 60 domestic and 10 international locations, including Abu Dhabi, Bangkok, Colombo, and Doha. This extensive network offers travellers easy access to both major metropolitan areas and tier 2 and tier 3 cities across India.

Langkawi, a stunning archipelago of 99 islands located on Malaysia’s northwest coast, offers travellers a mix of natural wonders and modern attractions. The new IndiGo flights connecting Bengaluru to Langkawi are scheduled to operate daily, starting on December 16, 2024. The flight details are as follows:

  • Flight 6E 1043 departs from Bengaluru at 3:40 AM and arrives in Langkawi at 10:25 AM.
  • Flight 6E 1044 returns from Langkawi at 11:25 AM, landing in Bengaluru at 12:55 PM.
