The Centre has invited suggestions and ideas from general mass for the Union Budget 2026-27, with an aim to make it more citizens-friendly and in line with what the country needs and wants. The suggestions have been invited on the mygov.in portal, where people can publicly list their ideas, and others can also read the same.

In a post on X, mygov.in stated the step is to increase the participation of people in the formation of country’s Budget for the next financial year. “The Ministry of Finance invites your valuable ideas for the Union Budget 2026–27 with an aim to reflect the aspirations and needs of the people while fostering inclusive growth and national progress,” the post read.

The portal https://www.mygov.in/group-issue/inviting-ideas-and-suggestions-union-budget-2026-2027/, would remain open till 5:30 pm on January 16, 2926.

Who all can post suggestions

According to the social media post, any citizen of India can submit suggestion for the Budget. “Whether you are a student, professional, homemaker, or retiree, your voice truly matters!” the Ministry of Finance said.

“In the spirit of Jan Bhagidari, we welcome your suggestions that can help shape India’s future and support its journey toward becoming a global economic powerhouse grounded in inclusive development,” it added.

Union Budget 2026-27

The government added that previously too, the suggestions through the platforms have “been successfully incorporated into the Annual Budget. This year again, we look forward to your active participation”. “Be a part of good governance. Your contribution counts! Share your ideas and help the nation rise to even greater heights,” it said.

The Budget will be tabled in Parliament on February 1 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. If the convention is followed, in 2026, the Budget will be presented on Sunday.
