Congress leader and Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi today said that the Union Budget 2022 has nothing for the middle class, salaried class, farmers and poor. Hitting out at the Modi government over the Union Budget 2022, Rahul Gandhi termed it a ‘zero sum budget’. The Congress party has also termed the budget as lacklustre.
“M0di G0vernment’s Zer0 Sum Budget! Nothing for Salaried class, Middle class, The poor & deprived, Youth, Farmers, MSMEs,” said Rahul in a tweet.
Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said that the motto of the budget 2022 is to cut subsidies and hit ‘poor & farmer’.
“Budget2022 motto -Cut Subsidy, Hit the Poor & Farmer! FY 2021-22(RE) & FY 2022-23 -: Food Subsidy slashed from Rs 2.86 Lakh CR to Rs 2.06 Lakh CR! Fertiliser Subsidy slashed from Rs 1.40 Lakh CR to Rs 1.05 Lakh CR! NAREGA budget slashed from Rs 98000 CR to Rs 73000 CR!,” said Surjewala.
“We are marking Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, and have entered into Amrit Kaal, the 25-year-long lead up to India @100” said the Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman while presenting the Union Budget 2022-23 in the Parliament today. The Minister stated that this Budget seeks to lay the foundation and give a Blueprint to steer the economy over the Amrit Kaal of the next 25 years “from India @75 to India @100.”
