Zinc futures on Wednesday moved up by 1.36 per cent in morning trade on the Multi Commodity Exchange following firming trend in the overseas market.
At the MCX platform, zinc for delivery in far-month October contract gained 1.36 per cent at Rs 89.35 per kg with a turnover of 8 lots, while delivery in August month contract traded 0.69 per cent higher at Rs 88.10 per kg, clocking a business turnover of 1,435 lots.
The metal for September contract rose 0.62 per cent at Rs 88.80 per kg. The contract recorded a business turnover of 126 lots.
According to analysts, trading sentiment in zinc at domestic futures market turned better after metal prices at the London Metal Exchange rose 0.65 per cent at USD 1,865 per tonne on Tuesday, while at Shanghai, prices rallied by 1.12 per cent at 15,290 yuan in early trade on Wednesday.
