Prices of turmeric and jeera prices declined by Rs 100 per quintal on the on the local kirana market today on increased supplies from producing regions against reduced offtake, while pepper improved on rising demand.
Marketmen said increased supplies against reduced offtake by stockists mainly led to fall in turmeric and jeera prices.
Expectations of higher output this season also kept pressure on the turmeric and jeera prices, they said.
In the national capital, turmeric, jeera common and best quality were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 4500-7800, Rs 14,400-14,500 and Rs 17,500-1800 per quintal, respectively.
On the other hand, black pepper remained in demand and advanced by Rs 100 to Rs 33,800-34,100 per quintal.
