SYSTIME, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Rs 1000-cr CMS group, has opened its global delivery centre (GDC) in Chennai to extend backoffice services to its global customers.
?We are already in Chennai and the GDC is only a formal extension of our regional buiness enabling SYSTIME to serve its global customers better,? Tushar Mehta, vice-president – global delivery, said here on Tuesday.
He said the GDC here would handle the increasing market demand for varied technologies, spanning all pratices of the company.
?Currently, the GDC is focusing on JD Edwards practice. There are plans to offer solution in a phased manner in domains such as business intelligence, products and technology and infrastrucutre mangement services.?
?We are excited to witness the growth in size and scale of our operations with the GDC. In line with our growth plans and new service line we have started the centre in Chennai which has a large manufacturing base with huge potential for us to tap,? Mehta said.
The large talent pool of Chennai was also a major factor in the company?s Chennai-centric growth plans. It has GDCs in Navi Mumbai with 750 seats and in Pune 200 seats. The Chennai head count would be ramped up to 200 next year and 500 in two years from the present 75, he said.
The growth in resources would be reflected in the rvenues also. SYSTIME is expecting to touch $100 million next year from $75 mllion now.
SYSTIME began its development investments of $12 million in 2006 and would complete it by 2010.
