Nokia, under its N Series category, has for the first time launched a multimedia device called N 78 in Indian market on Wednesday. The new device ushers in a new era in convergence by taking a leap ahead from offering multiple experiences on one device, to actually merging experiences with each other, said Vineet Taneja, Head, GTM, Nokia India.

Addressing a press conference here, he said through the ?location tagging? application, one can automatically tag the location data to the picture, allowing the users to save the same by date as well as by geographical coordinates. These location tagged pictures can be uploaded instantaneously along with the place where it was taken to a map, he said. When next time the user or a friend wants to visit the location, one can just use the image to navigate directly to that place, he pointed out.

The slim device, with a price tag of Rs 19,999, in the Indian market, allows the users the fusion of music, camera and internet, enabling them to generate content right from the palms of their hands. “This is the first time we are introducing this feature under N Series cateogry. It expects to attract huge customers, particularly the youngsters and busienssmen, in a big way,? he said.

With its 2.4 inch screen, the Nokia N 78 comes with a range of technologies including high-speed connectivity via WLAN and HSPDA 3, 5G an a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics for great image quality. This device comes with a preloaded maps of 8 cities across the country with points of interest across 52 categores such as cafes, restaurants, hotels and more. Also included is an integrated three month navigation license with the device, he said further.
