Anand Mahindra on Monday put to rest all speculation about his company?s plans to acquire General Motors? sports utility vehicle Hummer. ?Mahindra is positioned as a green warrior globally and we do not want to tarnish that image. Instead, we are pursuing our own models,? he said. After General Motors put the fuel guzzling Hummer on the block, Mahindra was said to be keen on?driving the brand to its stable. On the?dispute with Chrysler pertaining to its SUV Scorpio, Mahindra said that the company is in a dialogue with Chrysler. ?We have some issues over the grill design of Scorpio, but there is absolutely no infringement of any intellectual property,? he said.

The company is looking at another round of price hikes. Mahindra increased the price of its tractors by Rs 20,000 in the last three months. ?The input costs have gone up by Rs 40,000 out of which Rs 20,000 was passed on to the consumers, we will pass on more of it to the consumer in the future,? said Ashok Sharma, senior VP, strategic planning, M&M.
