Mahindra FirstChoice Wheels, India?s largest multi-brand, pre-owned car company and an arm of Mahindra & Mahindra, has set its sights on the Rs 18,000-crore used car market in India. Being one of a very few players in the organised used car market and a market leader, Mahindra FirstChoice on Wednesday entered into a strategic alliance with MyTVS, a major car service provider in India and part of TVS & Sons, to offer its customers an emergency roadside service on 24×7 basis across the country, apart from routine repair and maintenance services.

Capitalising on the potential growth of the used cars market in India, Mahindra FirstChoice has decided to double the number of selling outlets to 250 by the next financial year and then take it to 300. ?With this tie-up and our huge network expansion, we expect to sell around 100,000 cars across the country in the next three to four years as against the projected target of 18,000 units in the current financial year,? said Rajeev Dubey, president (HR, after-market & corporate services) and member of the group management board.

Addressing a press conference to announce the alliance, he said warranty programmes would be provided for all certified cars for a period of one year or 15,000 km without any additional cost and customers could access MyTVS outlets for any roadside or emergency services across the nation on 24×7 basis.

According to R Dines, joint managing director, TVS & Sons, MyTVS has over 1,490 service outlets in India. Most of them are franchise-based and are equipped to service at high quality standards. It has a call centre to address customers? grievances 24×7 and will provide emergency roadside services. Post warranty, customers could either go to Mahindra FirstChoice directly to renew their service agreements or come to us, he said.
