The Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad) has decided to spread its wings within the country. At the instance of the Andhra Pradesh, IIM-A is currently in talks with it for setting up a campus in Hyderabad.
According to an IIM-A release on Tuesday, IIM-A has suggested the Andhra government to allocate 150 acre of land and provide funding to the tune of Rs 100 crore to set up the campus. The country?s premier management school plans to begin operations by offering executive education programmes and subsequently it may explore the possibility of starting academic programmes on the campus. The Institute would attempt to link the Ahmedabad campus with the Hyderabad campus through use of technology, for seamless operations between the two campuses.
It may be recalled that former chief minister of AP late YS Rajashekhara Reddy had invited the IIM-A to set up a campus in the state way back in 2008 and had even offered land and fund for the project. The Andhra government has once again taken up the matter with the IIM-A.
