Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd (HPL) is planning to form a joint working team with the union for speedy resolve of the crisis over the demand of regular employment to a section of contractual employees.

In a statement issued on Monday, HPL said: “To speed up the process, a joint working team is being suggested so that future discussions can lead to a mutually acceptable solution.”

At a bipartite meeting held on Monday, the union suggested phase-wise absorption of ‘contractors’ manpower’, said the statement. The union has also demanded training for some persons, whose land was acquired for HPL, at local technical institutes.
