Over 63.07 lakh tonne of wheat has so far arrived in the mandis of Haryana. Out of the total arrival, over 63.05 lakh tonne of wheat has been purchased by the six government procuring agencies and the rest 2,736 tonne of wheat by the traders.
?Over 20.81 lakh tonne had been purchased by Hafed, while food and supplies department has purchased 16.51 lakh tonne, Food Corporation of India (FCI) over 9.55 lakh tonne, Haryana Warehousing Corporation over 5.56 lakh tonne, Agro Industries over 5.55 lakh tonne and Confed over 5.03 lakh tonne,? said a spokesman of the food and supplies department.
He said district Sirsa is leading in wheat arrival, where over 7.44 lakh tonne of wheat has arrived in the mandis, followed by district Karnal, with over 7.24 lakh tonne. District Jind has recorded an arrival of over 6.17 lakh tonne, Fatehabad over 5.90 lakh tonne, Kaithal over 5.70 lakh tonne, Kurukshetra 5.3 lakh tonne, Palwal 3.76 lakh tonne, Sonipat over 3.46 lakh tonne and Panipat over 2.63 lakh tonne.
