Searching for a suitable opponent to take on Narendra Modi in the Gujarat assembly elections, the Congress on Tuesday decided to field minister of state for petroleum and gas, Dinshaw Patel against the state chief minister.

Though Modi will pose a really tough challenge in his pocketborough of Maninagar, Congress managers contended that Patel’s choice was made with the view that they should give a good fight rather than put up a token candidate against the chief minister.
