Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister P K Dhumal, who holds the additional portfolio of Finance, today presented supplementary demands for grants amounting to Rs 960.44 crore for 2011-12 in the state Assembly.
“Out of this, Rs 575.55 crore is under Plan schemes, Rs 182.05 crore under the centrally sponsored schemes and Rs 202.84 crore under non-Plan,” he said after presenting the demands.
Major expenditure proposed under the plan schemes was for infrastructure development and Rs 102.59 crore had been demanded for construction of roads and bridges under World Bank and NABARD projects in general plan, he said.
While a sum of Rs 23.11 crore was under Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan, Rs 33.74 crore has been earmarked for the Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) and completion of development works for horticulture under Rastriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKBY) and auditorium of University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni.
Similarly, Rs 21.60 crore has been allocated for tribal areas and salary of PTA teachers, he said.
Under various Central sponsored schemes, supplementary provision of Rs 182.05 crore had been proposed while Rs 28.19 crore had been proposed under the Integrated Child Development Services.
Rs 28.19 crore was under Special Nutrition Programme, Rs 27.62 crore under Pradhan Mantri Adarsh Gram Yojana, Rs 19. 50 crore for setting up of new polytechnic and Rs 11.42 crore for post-metric scholarship to Scheduled Tribe students.
The House, meanwhile, started discussion on Motion of Thanks, moved by ruling party member Suresh Bhardwaj and seconded by BJP member Urmila Thakur, on the Governor’s address which was presented on March 9.
