Ahead of French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s visit to India next month, defence related activities such as joint exercises, high-level visits, transfer of technology and issues related to co-development and co-production will top the agenda of the 10th meeting of the Indo-French High Committee on Defence Cooperation next week.

The two day meeting from December 17 will be co-chaired by the defence secretary Vijay Singh and Thierry Borja de Mozota, representative of French defence minister.

There are three sub-committees under this committee. The sub committee on military cooperation has representatives from the headquarters of Integrated Defence Services and the three services.

The sub committee on military cooperation will roll out a plan for service-to-service activities for the next year, while the sub committee on strategic issues will discuss matters related to regional issues.

The sub committee on Defence Industry Procurement and Research & Technology will discuss the transfer of technology, joint development and production.
