The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is mounting a 25-member high-level business and investment mission to the UK from October 10 to 14 to strengthen business and trade cooperation between both the countries, especially in the SME sector.
The CII mission led by T T Ashok, chairman, CII southern region, would focus on opportunities for joint collaboration in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, IT, ICT, health, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, innovation, automotive & auto components, agro & food processing, engineering & financial services.
According to TT Ashok, the mission will connect Indian SMEs in UK through B2B networking sessions and also organise meetings with leading industry organisations, senior government officials, OEMs and procurement agencies in the UK to facilitate greater SME cooperation.
The mission members will participate at the India-UK engineering SMEs conference and business meet being organised on October 13, 2011 at the Henry Ford College, London.
Ashok, along with Rajesh N Prasad, acting high commissioner of India; C Gururaj Rao, Consul General of India, Birmingham; Nicky Morgan, MP of Loughborough; HP Kumar, chairman & managing director, National Small Industries Corporation of India, besides senior officials from the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) will address , at the conference. During the mission, the members will also interact with senior representatives of the Confederation British Industry, British Expertise and the Gateway Asia, London, towards strengthening SME cooperation between India and UK. The mission will visit the Imperial University, Cambridge University and also interact with experts from the Warwick Manufacturing Group.
