In a bid to put its act together and present a united face ahead of the assembly elections in Gujarat, the BJP?s central leadership has summoned chief minister Narendra Modi here on Friday to hold consultations with him, where attempts would also be made to find ways control dissidence in the party?s state unit.
The leaders will also discuss issues related to party?s poll preparedness and engage themselves in a preliminary consultation over the names of probable party candidates.
Interestingly, former Gujarat chief minister Keshubhai Patel, who has been spearheading the dissidence activities in the state unit for quite sometime, is also in the National Capital and meeting party leaders from Gujarat.
??Attempts would be made to bring the two warring factions together, as a meeting between Modi and Patel has also been fixed. The central leadership will appeal to both the factions to shun their differences?? sources in the party said.
The BJP dissidents, however, while stepping up its attack against chief minister, on Thursday appealed to principal opposition in the state ? the Congress?to help them in defeating the BJP.
