BGR Energy, major power station contractor, builder and equipment supplier, is planning to manufacture complete range of power plant equipment. B G Raghupathy, chairman and managing director of BGR Energy, said, ??it is a compulsion for EPC contractors to manufacture main plant equipment like boilers and turbines. BGR is planning to manufacture them. Details of the plan would be announced next month,?? he said.

The increasing investment in power generation by the public and private sectors in the country has filled the order book of BGR. The current orders on hand exceed Rs 3000 crore. For next year the company expects Rs 9000 crore orders, most of which would be for power plants, Raghupathy said.

The present orderes are for power sector (Rs 2718 crore), oil and gas sector turnkey contracts (Rs 321 crore) and equipment business (Rs 173 crore).

The sales and service income of the company during the financial year ended March 31, 2008 registered 191% growth at Rs 1504.85 crore. Net proft was at Rs 84 crore.

??The company expects that the strong growth in power, oil and gas sectors and increasing demand for capital equipment will continue to enable the company to sustain the growth in revenue and profitability during the current year,?? Raghupathy said.

He said the company was expanding its oil and gas equipment divison and air fin cooler divison, both in Chennai and the Gulf to increase the share in the global equipment business.
