Two-wheeler manufacturer Bajaj Auto on Friday posted a 27.79 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 366.46 crore for the quarter ended September 30, compared to Rs 286.77 crore for the same period last fiscal.

The net income of the company increased marginally to Rs 2,583.34 crore for the quarter under review against Rs 2,538.86 crore for the corresponding period last year, Bajaj informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.

The standalone net profit of the company for the quarter stood at Rs 336.42 crore against Rs 317.59 crore for the year-ago period.

The net income also increased at Rs 2,578.40 crore for the September quarter compared to Rs 2,509.51 crore for the same quarter last fiscal.

Shares of the company were trading at Rs 2,525, up 2.62 per cent in the afternoon trade at BSE.
