Drug maker Aurobindo Pharma said it has received approval for its antibiotic tablets from Health Canada.
The company has received the approval for its abbreviated new drug submission — Cefuroxime Axetil tablets 250 and 500mg — from Health Canada, Aurobindo Pharma said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
The tablets are the generic equivalent of GlaxoSmithKline Canada’s Ceftin tablets and are indicated for the treatment of patients with mild to moderate infections, it said.
Health Canada is the Federal department responsible for helping Canadians maintain and improve their health.
Shares of Aurobindo Pharma were trading at Rs 942 on the BSE, down 0.79 per cent from its previous close.
