Aptech Ltd is planning to expand its animation, aviation and high-end corporate training business overseas by next year. The company’s focus for this year is to increase penetration in countries including Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam.

At present, Aptech offers only IT training outside India. The company’s lines of businesses include IT, animation and multimedia training, offshore content development, e-learning, training and assessment solutions for corporates and institutions, developer training and consultancy, and aviation training.

Pramod Khera, chief executive officer and managing director, Aptech said, the company is in the process of expanding its aviation training across India this year. Avlon has about 20 centres, predominantly in the northern and western parts of India. The focus now is to expand in the South, he added.

Avlon will open centres in Bangalore and Kochi within two weeks and a centre in Chennai will follow within four months time. “The company has invested about Rs 26 crore this year to develop content and to expand,” he added.

About 67% of Aptech’s Rs 922.67 crore global revenue in the 2006 fiscal came from its retail education solutions. Out of the 67%, about 48% came from its overseas operations, Pramod said.

“All the businesses are growing and we would like to extend the other training courses overseas when the businesses start contributing to our bottomline,” he added.
