In line up with pious pilgrimage of Manimahes, India’s leading mobile service operator, Bharti Airtel Limited, on Wednesday announced the launch of its services in tribal belts of Bharmour of Chamba district in Himachal Pradesh (HP). With this, Airtel’s network is now available to customers in all the districts of HP as well as the adjoining villages of Bharmour. The launch of the Airtel service will be of immense benefit to the local residents, pilgrims and orchards growers of the region. In Himachal Pradesh, Airtel is now providing a state-of-the-art network in over 57 towns and over 8,000 villages.

To ensure a congestion-free network, Airtel has set up over 725 cell sites which is largest number of cell sites by any operator in HP, some of which are in the most inhospitable of terrains. The latest cell site located in Bharmour (Chamba district) is one of the remotest part of the world and remain cut off from the rest of world during winters. Nowadays, Bharmour is thronged by the devotees across the world for its pious Manimahesh pilgrimage which stretches from August to September every year. Latest cell site established at Bharmour will not only solve the purpose for natives of Dharbala, Ghera and Khedamukh villages but also immensely benefits to National Hydro Power Corporation’s Chamera ?III project. A number of cell sites get snowed for a large part of the year and the Airtel technical team does a herculean task in maintaining these cell sites to ensure customers uninterrupted access to the world through his Airtel mobile.
