Voting for the Gujarat Assembly elections completed as about 63-65% of the total 1.87 crore voters exercised their franchise in the second and last phase of the polling on Sunday.

The second phase included 95 constituencies in the north and central districts of the state, including the communally sensitive Godhra.

?The polling was by and large peaceful… with no major incident reported from anywhere in the state,? deputy election commissioner J Prakash said. ?Voting was brisk throughout the day and people were seen queuing up even after 5 pm,? he said.

About 6,000 personnel of central security agencies and state police were deployed in the areas. About 5,000 officers were appointed for polling related duties.
